Financial Services

Ricardo-AEA works with financial services in energy and carbon services policy and strategy, carbon management and energy and resource efficiency. Our experience of advising the UK and EU Governments on energy legislation means we are in a unique position to help companies interpret how they can maximise their business opportunities through compliance. We undertake sophisticated Marginal Abatement Cost Curve analysis, conduct energy efficiency studies building by building, and achieve waste and water reductions, as well as carbon savings. Manufacturing

Ricardo-AEA offers strategic advice on managing climate risks and adapting to climate change. We conduct carbon, water and energy reviews and have seconded our expert energy managers into organisations in order to set up energy strategies and implementation plans. We conduct feasibility studies for renewables and electricity generation, including photovoltaic panels, wind turbines and small hydroelectric and heat generation, including biomass and ground source heat pumps and small scale CHP. Transport

Ricardo-AEA has an in depth understanding of current and future environmental challenges facing the transport sector. AEA offers technical, strategic and implementation services across the full spectrum of sustainable transport solutions - from research and policy advice on emissions, to advice on lower carbon vehicles/fuels across all modes. Ricardo-AEA manages the National Atmospheric Emissions Inventory (NAEI) on behalf of the UK Government. Our unrivalled expertise in this area means that we are uniquely placed to be able to provide transport companies with access the UK's leading experts on transport emissions. Our 40-strong sustainable transport team works closely with the logistics sector, the aviation industry, railway operators and many other transport companies.

Retail

Ricardo-AEA works with the retail sector on carbon footprinting, resource management, risk management and due diligence. We develop sustainable procurement policies, including carbon footprinting on products throughout the product lifecycle, from seed manufacture right through the supply chain to delivery to the shop and subsequent disposal.
